We are excited to share with you the beautiful nature of Estonia and the magical summer where the sun almost never sets! Below, we will go over a few helpful tips to make your stay as safe and comfortable as possible. Weather The weather in July is the best you can experience in Estonia—warm and sunny. That being said, the evening can be cooler than the daytime. We recommend having a jacket readily available, and even though you’ll be far north, the sun can still cause a sunburn if you’re out in it all day. In the unlikely event of rain, your usual rain-friendly attire is recommended! In the more likely event of warm sunshine, make sure to bring your swimwear! Or not—because this is Estonia, and swimming nude is no big deal. Safety The one thing you should be mindful of in Estonia during the summer is ticks. It’s recommended to do a thorough inspection of your body every night before heading to bed, just to be sure no tick has chosen you as its special someone. A daily check will ensure you’re not being munched on, and you’ll want to be especially diligent if you’ve been playing in tall grass fields. Parents should definitely check their children as well. Culture Estonians can seem more direct in their communication. Please don’t take this personally, as it’s just a cultural nuance. Most people will be able to speak English. Saaremaa Island (where you’re traveling to) is accustomed to welcoming international visitors during the summer season, so communication with the locals should be super smooth!
