We’re getting married!

February 2022 I received a friend request from someone I went to school with…. I accepted. A couple days later I get a message on Messenger to which most of the time I would have ignored but I was enjoying my dad and uncle’s company by the fire in the snow with a fabulous bottle of spirits. The message read…. When you see your elementary school crush on Facebook you have to reach out. My amazing response….. who is she I might know her. Well then I realized what he was saying to me and WOW didn’t see that one coming. Unfortunately I did not remember him from school or even the movie we went and saw with friends while his mother chaperoned ( I had to ask her when I met her again if I behaved and she said I was very polite). We continue to have hilarious conversations over the next few days and weeks. We met on a whim on a beautiful Friday afternoon. I picked a public place and one I really enjoyed because it was on the water, Tom Statham Park. He gave me a hug and stated he was relieved that I came. When I asked why? He stated it was April Fools Day and wasn’t sure if I was playing a cruel but very funny joke on him. I laughed and said I would never be that mean….. We talked for hours about our lives and our past. How he would see me around at events like Jaycee Dances held at this very park, how he would come by my first job (Burger King) and have lunch on his break from Winn Dixie. We discussed both having a son named Jaxon, 1 year apart, both born in January and both with the middle initial D. Small world. Since then we have shared many wonderful times together. Enjoying his passion of music and going to concerts and enjoying my passion of travel. He has for the most part enjoyed the trips but he doesn’t travel well aka “The Grumpy Traveler”. He asked me to marry him December 21, 2023 in his kitchen. We joke how bad his proposal was and how terrible his fake knee injury was done. I told him it took him 34 years to talk to me and ask me out, and now he tripped at the finish line. Then he does remind me that I did say “Yes” We are now thrilled to share this day with our cherished family and friends ❤️
