Yes! We are excited to celebrate with our families and friends through a series of pre-wedding ceremonies including Mehndi, Haldi, and Sangeet. The Haldi ceremony will take place on Wednesday May 13th 2026. The Sangeet and Mehndi night will take place the night before the wedding on Thursday May 14th 2026.
A henna, or mehndi ceremony, is a vibrant pre-wedding celebration where the application of henna takes place for the couple's family and friends. In Indian weddings intricate henna designs are applied to the bride's hands and feet to symbolize good luck, prosperity, and blessings for her marriage.
The Haldi ceremony is a joyful pre-wedding ritual in Indian culture where a paste of turmeric, sandalwood, and other ingredients is applied to the bride and groom by family and friends. It symbolizes purification and cleansing, protection, prosperity, good fortune, a natural glow for the skin, family bonding, stress relief and blessings for the couple.
The Sangeet Ceremony is a pre-wedding celebration at an Indian wedding that features singing, dancing, and music, with families and friends coming together to honor the couple and celebrate the union. The word "sangeet" means "sung together," and the event is a festive and joyous occasion. It involves performances by the families, often choreographed dances, along with guest performances and an open dance floor.
Haldi Ceremony: This ceremony will take place indoors as well as outdoors so please dress comfortably! Be sure to dress in bright colors such as yellow and orange! Indian Attire is encouraged but absolutely not required; western outfits are also perfectly welcome. Just note Haldi can get a little messy, so choose something you don't mind getting turmeric on. Sangeet/Mehndi Night : Guests are welcome to wear Semi-Formal attire or traditional Indian outfits for the sangeet. Jewel tone colors encouraged. Wedding: Think festive and formal! Guests are welcome to wear Western formal wear (suits, dresses, gowns) or traditional cultural attire (sarees, lehengas, sherwanis, etc.). Please avoid wearing white (typically reserved for brides in Western weddings) or red/maroon (traditionally reserved for Hindu brides). Additionally, please avoid wearing all black for the Hindu morning ceremony, as brighter and lighter colors are traditionally encouraged.
