Our story is a bit of a modern age Romeo & Juliet. Instead of being star-crossed lovers, however, we were Tinder-crossed teens. Lol. Long story short, we matched on Tinder when we were both 19 and living in San Diego. We talked for a bit, but I was a busy gal, and I kinda stopped talking to him. Oops. Fast forward almost 4 years later, and I'm heading to school in San Francisco. I don't know a single soul there, so I'm browsing through my Snapchat app bored one night (this was back when people actually used Snapchat lol). As I'm scrolling, I see a little preview pic of what looks like Dolores Park in San Francisco. I see the name Peter Kies next to it. "Who is Peter?? Omg is that the guy I matched with randomly forever ago?" I wait a bit to contact him because who knows, he could just be visiting. A week later I see another snap story of SF. I think to myself, "this could be a great connection; if we don't click, I could always use a new friend up here." When I first messaged him, Pete recalls seeing my name & trying to figure out how he knew me. He looked up my Facebook account, saw my photo, and was so excited. "Omg, it's this girl!!" Pete remembers cheering with his friends on the beach. (So cute lol) After chatting for a while, the time comes for him to pick me up & we go on a date. We had an instant connection; it felt like we had known each other our entire lives. I just remember how comfortable he made me feel and how he made me laugh so hard I cried. We ended up staying up ALL night just talking (till 7am!), barely realizing how much time had passed by. We hung out the next day, and the next, and the next, until we realized it had been 2 weeks and we hadn't gone a single day without seeing each other. We met at the very end of September, and made it official on 11/11/16. That's why our wedding date is so special to us, 11/11/22 will be our first day married and our 6th year together.
