Things To Do

Quarantine. Bubble bath in quarantine. Bird watching from your quarantine house. Oh, wait you're serious? Well then... Fort Bragg and Mendocino are pretty touristy , they're full of fun shops and state parks. We have some nice easily accessible places closer to home, too.

Low Gap Park

1167 Low Gap Road, Ukiah, CA 95482
, (707) 463-4291

A nice park with good trails. You can go to the overlook and see the entire valley, it's pretty cool. They have a disc golf course as well!

Montgomery Woods State Natural Reserve

15825 Orr Springs Road, Ukiah, CA 95482
, (707) 937-5804

Tall boy trees, the tallest. No seriously, we had the tallest but he fell a few years ago, so now we only have the 2nd and 3rd tallest, but that's still pretty good. PS do not be fooled by the map, you can't get to the coast this way.

Glass Beach

Glass Beach Drive, Fort Bragg, CA 95437

Really beautiful trail that runs along the coast. Stroller friendly. There's also a big tide pool, and of course Glass Beach itself. Go at low tide to see the glass, most of the high tide glass has been poached I'm afraid.

Jug Handle State Natural Reserve

California 1, Fort Bragg, CA 95437
, (707) 937-5804

Super beautiful waterfall at the end of the trail. Or at the beginning, if you know the secret way.

Papa Bear's Chocolate Haus

45150 Main Street, Mendocino, CA 95460
, (707) 937-4406

Mendocino is a cool little town, more expensive than Fort Bragg. The beaches are still really pretty, and if you're in the area, you should treat yourself to the Chocolate Haus. Bring cash :)

Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens

18220 California 1, Fort Bragg, CA 95437
, (707) 964-4352

The gardens are super beautiful and amazing! They do charge admission but it's not super high, check their website. You need to reserve tickets in a timeslot before arriving, which you can do online. Their café and gift shop are super nice too!

The Skunk Train

100 West Laurel Street, Fort Bragg, CA 95437
, (707) 964-6371

It's pricey but it's fun, if trains are your thing. It looks like they're running Pudding Creek and the Rail Bikes out of Fort Bragg the week of the wedding. Check their website for more info. (If you dip out early to do the train I'll totally understand!)

North Coast Brewing Co. Taproom, Restaurant & Bar

444 North Main Street, Fort Bragg, CA 95437
, (707) 964-3400

Super nice brewery, good (if a bit pricey) food, fantastic beers. Bring me some La Merle if you go! Be careful of the Old Rasputin. If you can't get in for food, they have a gift shop across the street where you can pick up beer and merch.

For all the days along the way
