We met at a party in Chinatown Labor Weekend. Maurice was very popular in this social circle and I was just out to have a few drinks with my cousin. I was familiar with him from social media so he was a familiar face in a sea of strangers. If anyone knows Maurice he is very Charismatic and has no issues with talking to people. I'm not so friendly. While at the bar, he approached me with a corny pick up line lol. We spoke for a few mins and exchanged numbers. I didn't think I would see him again and just left. A few days later he called me and we made plans see each other that weekend. We have not gone more than 7 days without seeing each other since that weekend.

July 16, 2022 Every summer we Co- host a Barbeque in Harlem. This year was like any other year. Lots of running around and getting things situated. I was running around helping organize and serve food. I noticed family and friends that I haven't seen in a long time. I didn’t think anything of it and continued to help with the food. Out of nowhere it started to rain. The rain was insane. At this point I thought the whole barbeque was over. Maurice had such a sad look on his face. We waited around and the rain eventually stopped. The sun was shining brighter than ever. Everything is going well at this point. While taking pictures with my mom I look over and see my Stepson (this is the only time you will hear me refer to him as such). I have not seen him in over a year. Anyone who knows me knows that he means everything to me. I immediately grabbed him. I'm crying uncontrollably at this point. As we are hugging, her turns me around and there was Maurice on his knee...
