The month of May holds a special place in my heart for a couple of reasons. May 11, 1931 was the day one of my heroes was born: my PalPal Richard. Heaven is so lucky to have him now, but I was also lucky to soak up all of his love and wisdom during his time on Earth. He helped to show me how a lady should be treated, and I’ve always carried his lessons close to my heart. Fast forward to May in 2012- I was introduced to my love, Leon James Henry III. We officially started dating on May 30, 2012 and now we are getting married on that exact date 8 years later! I know PalPal Richard would be proud of the man I’ve chosen to figure out all of life’s ups and downs with. Leon and I have such a special bond. We truly get each other- probably because we are both Pisces with birthdays just one day apart! Leon is someone I can tell all of my darkest secrets to, but he’s also the person I can just be goofy with all day. Over the years, Leon and I have accomplished great things together, such as becoming parents and becoming homeowners! Our beautiful, spunky daughter, A’leinadye, is our pride and joy and has helped us grow in our relationship for each other even more. On December 16, 2016, while celebrating Christmas with family, Leon popped the question and of course I said yes! This wedding is the beginning of the rest of our lives, and we can’t wait to live “happily ever after”!
