Welcome to our Happily Ever After

It all started with a beer... Well, basically. In 2014 we were both working a random bartending job at neighboring restaurants. After a long day at work, I stopped in for a little happy hour at the restaurant next door. Little did I know, the bartender would end up being my best friend and the love of my life.

It was my 30th Birthday in South Lake Tahoe. If I'm being completely honest, I knew it was coming. We had picked out a ring together and Joey told me he talked to both my Dads. He tried to throw me off by saying I wouldn't know when or how. Fair enough... I told him to just make sure I looked cute. Whoops again! He responds by saying, "Oh, don't worry. You will. I'm taking you to a nice dinner on Saturday". Regardless, we decide to just enjoy the weekend and see what unfolds. Fast forward. We're sitting down to dinner at Station 19 at the top of Harrahs. I realize I had forgotten my phone in the hotel room all the way back at Harveys. Being the gentleman that he is, Joey says he'll go back and get it for me. As I'm sitting there completely distracted from our fun weekend, I remember it's Saturday night. My nerves kick in and my heart begins to race. Being the sneaky snake that I am, to relieve my anxiety a bit, I pat down his jacket that is sitting on the seat. Yikes! It's really happening. Whew... Breathe. We enjoy our meal and nothing out of the ordinary seems to be happening. Maybe he's trying to throw me off since I had basically figured it out. **shoulder shrug** Whatever, we'll see what happens. Following dinner, Joey suggests that we take a walk in Heavenly Village. Me, constantly analyzing, thinks "why?". It's FREEZING and everything is closed. Still, super cute idea. Let's walk around all romantical like two teenage kids and look at the twinkly Christmas lights. We're walking and Joey stalls out around this tall Christmas tree. Once again distracted, I'm like, "c'mon it's cold!". Wait, is this it? Wait... OMG. Joey goes into his speech and drops to his knee. He pops the question, "will you do me the honor of marrying me?" "Aww.. Of course I will!".
