After years of knowing each other and quite honestly becoming pretty good friends, we decided to take the next step… DATING 😍 Over the next several months, our friendship turned into one of the things I cherished most. Unfortunately for the both of us, life happened and I knew I was no where ready to surrender my heart. I needed to do some self work and healing. After an abrupt break up, both hearts being broken, I began to discover my self and my worth. My past is not one for the faint of heart, but through it all, Eric was always patient with me. The next several years we kept our distance but communication remained. Even if it was just a friendly text checking in with one another. It was refreshing to me to know we always picked right back up where we left off. During the years apart, we both dated other people, but in January 2020 our paths crossed again. Eric is one of those people, that once you meet him, you can’t forget him or let your life go on without him in it. During that time we were both going through break ups and confided in one another for advice. Both of us have always been extremely honest with each other which is why I reached out in the first place. Nothing more. Once the break ups were over and done with, we had several conversations about reconnecting and rekindling our relationship. Low and behold by March of 2020 we decided to give it one last whirl. Over the course of the next 2.5 years life really tried to knock us down. We experienced great loss with 2 miscarriages, job changes, creating a blended house hold, you name it. But God!!! Christmas morning of 2022 he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife, of course I said yes!!!! We quickly started to plan a Caribbean destination wedding but soon found out that was NOT God’s plan for us. Hiccup after hiccup and finally we decided to call it off. We spent several months praying and asking God for direction and guidance and one Saturday in June, it all clicked. We knew it was the right time. We toured a venue, fell in love with it and knew right away it was time to plan. Here we are now, planning away & happier than ever! If you’re fortunate enough to know us, wether individually or as a couple, you know our love for one another runs DEEP! Eric accepted Christ on March 12, 2023 and since then God has been fervently working in our lives. We truly believe it was all in Gods plans to have our wedding stateside instead of internationally. Though while trying to plan our wedding before, nothing made sense as to why everything was falling apart! Until we got in church and God opened our eyes. Now, it’s all working out just as we’d both imagined. We have to give God all the glory, honor and praise for allowing our paths to cross one last time which has resulted in us choosing “forever”- together. ❤️
