John Wayne Airport (SNA), Orange County is smaller and has fewer flight options than LAX, but is closest to our event and easiest to get through. It is 16 minutes from both Holy Spirit Church and VEA Newport Beach.
Flight
Avoid this airport if possible. Los Angeles Airport (LAX) will be about a 50 minute Uber to Fountain Valley or Newport Beach. If you are using ride share, you have to shuttle from the Arrivals area to the ride share travel lot. You can order a Uber Black however to get picked up right at arrivals but it can be pricey. VEA Newport Beach, A Marriott Resort & Spa is where we will be having the wedding reception. This is where we recommend you to stay if you want to stay near the reception. This resort is valet only and complementary parking will be included on the day/night of the wedding. This hotel is across the street and walkable from the Fashion Island Shopping Mall. This hotel is 13 minutes from Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The room block rate makes it one of the more affordable options around the Fashion Island area (which is quite expensive). The room block includes a discounted rate of $409 for a King or Queen room (typical rate for this hotel is $779). About 75% of the rooms here have an ocean view and they are based on availability upon arrival. However if you are interested in securing an ocean view there is an additional fee. The Hyatt Regency Newport Beach is a resort style hotel adjacent to the Upper Newport Bay Nature Reserve. This hotel is a 3 minute drive from the wedding reception venue VEA Newport Beach.
