When people ask how Colin and I met, I usually tell them the short and simple answer: high school. Which is true - Colin, and I were high school friends. Not close friends, but friendly enough that we had each other's phone numbers and would once in a while hang outside of school. I had a fairly big crush on him then (and still do), and - unbeknownst to me - he had a crush on me too. In 2016, we graduated high school and parted ways as we both were looking forward to the next phase in life and navigating newfound adulthood. We lost touch in 2016, and lived our lives without contact until 2021. A little about me: I have always been a very spiritual person and consider myself to be in-tuned with the energy of the universe. Starting in 2019, I started getting this feeling that someone was going to enter my life romantically. This feeling only intensified in 2020, and in true lock-down boredom, I hired a psychic off Etsy (who I found off TikTok, although I don't think her Etsy page is available anymore), and she told me that I was going to meet him in a year during the summer months. Well, fast forward to July 2021. I'm having a dream where I am at a restaurant with my family, and Colin walks in with a string of angel numbers above his head. When I woke up, the crush I had from high school resurfaced even though I had not spoken to him in five years. I still had his number saved after all this time, so in the hopes that he kept his number the same, I texted him that day asking if he wanted to go grab coffee and catch up. We ended up grabbing bubble tea together (which is our favorite beverage to get together) and our relationship has grown and prospered ever since. We have been inseparable these past three years; the amount of love we have for each other is immeasurable, and we cannot wait for the moment to say "I Do". -Tiffany Ko
When the time was finally right, I set out to find a ring. I researched online for hours on end, and went to at least four shops until I found the perfect ring that I thought matched her best. For the perfect proposal spot, I knew that she loved anything to do with nature, and thought that a botanical garden would be the best place to do it. I did a lot of research for the most beautiful one I could find and ended up discovering Longwood Botanical Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. I planned a full itinerary for a day trip in mid-August and told her it was a surprise trip for her birthday. When the day came we set off, and I think she knew what was happening - especially when I told her that both of our families would be there. It’s hard to keep secrets from her, I suppose. Longwood Gardens was beautiful (but not as beautiful as her). We spent a while walking around and seeing the flora. We eventually got to the spot I wanted to propose in - a stone gazebo tucked away in the greenery - but someone else was already proposing in that spot! I made everybody turn around and walk some more. Eventually we made our way back, and as we were taking pictures under the gazebo, I got down on one knee and popped the question. She said yes! Now I am ready for the wedding, and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with her. - Colin Holmgren
