We met at a party at Fire Station in Silver Spring, Maryland. I was dancing with my girls when all of a sudden I get hit in the back of the head. Confused and annoyed, I slowly turned around to find him standing and apologizing. He was reaching for a drink and accidentally elbowed me in the head. I gave him a thumbs up to let him know I was good, and turned back around to continue dancing. A couple of songs later, I felt a tap on my shoulder. Again confused, I turned around and he asked if he could dance with me. I said sure and we danced for the rest of the night. He even witnessed my friends and I drunkenly arguing on the street about whether or not to go to an after party...not our best moment. We exchanged numbers have been inseparable ever since.

Willie was having a backyard BBQ to celebrate his birthday. We were expecting warm and sunny weather, but what we got was the exact opposite. It was cold and raining. I was a complete mess because my dog passed the night before and I cried myself to sleep. However, I had to pull together and help setup. The tent purchased in case of rain, broke, and a makeshift tent was built on the fly. He was worried that no one would show up because of the weather, but everyone came out to celebrate. His family and friends, and my family and friends all showed up; and they all suffered through the cold weather. After all the guests arrived, Willie cut down the music to give what I though was his thank you speech. We had discussed previously that I didn't need to say anything, so despite everyone's attempts to make me go up there with him, I was trying to hide and eat soup. I noticed all the phones out recording his speech, but I just figured that's what people do in 2022. All of a sudden, Willie takes my soup and pulls me to the front to stand with him during his speech. He caught me completely off guard when he got down on one knee asked me to marry him in front of everyone. I said YES!!!!!!!!
