The springs, located in the northern St. Patrick's Parish, feature a mix of hot and cold pools, some with earthy water and others with clear, salty water, even though they are inland. The hot springs are often used for natural exfoliation and massage, with local guides using mud from the springs to rub on skin.
Recreation and tourist facilities, including a visitor centre, viewpoints, trails, picnic shelters, parking, washrooms, vendor stalls and food and beverage concessions have been developed at Grand Etang Forest Reserve. The facilities, with the exception of the trails, are managed by the Ministry of Economic Development, Planning, Tourism, ICT, and the Creative Economy. The trails and surrounding forest resources are managed by the Department of Forestry and National Parks. The Department also maintains a small, two hectare nursery in the Grand Etang Forest Reserve.
