FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at the venue between 1-1.30pm ready for the ceremony to begin at 2pm.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

There is some parking at the venue but this is limited.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the ceremony?

Answer

We have booked a coach to pick guests up from Waverley Station at 12:45pm on Sunday, July 20th. Take the exit for Market Street at Waverley Station and turn right. The coach pick-up location will be opposite to the Motel One Edinburgh Royal. After the reception, the coach will pick guests up at Newhall Estate at midnight with drop-off at Waverley Station. As parking is limited, booking a taxi is also an option. If traveling by taxi to and from the venue, it is strongly recommended to pre-book your taxi for departure from the reception at a set time as trying to book a taxi after the reception may be difficult. Guests not residing at the venue will need to depart at midnight.

Question

Will we need to travel from the ceremony to the reception?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will both take place at Newhall Estate so there is no need to travel in between.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail/semi-formal.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

The venue has limited capacity, so unless a plus one is included on your invitation please don't bring a date.

Question

Are you registered?

Answer

We don't have a registry - your presence is all the present we need!

Question

Are dogs welcome?

Answer

Unfortunately the venue does not allow guests to bring additional dogs, but you will be able to meet Tiff's dog Jessie!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Kids are absolutely welcome and have been included on your invitation.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please let us know about any dietary requirements when you RSVP and we will be sure to accommodate you.

Question

Do I need a visa to enter the UK?

Answer

If you are a US citizen, you are exempt from a visa. If you do not hold a British passport and are not a US citizen, please check UK government website to see if you will need a visa. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/uk-visa-requirements-list-for-carriers/uk-visa-requirements-for-international-carriers **Even if you do not need a visa, you will still need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to be able to enter UK borders. This process can take up to 72 hours so please plan accordingly. You can visit https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta
