We’re getting MARRIED!

We crossed each other’s path during our time at Baylor University. Both competing on Baylor’s Track & Field team. Ricky threw the javelin (pointy stick) and as he likes to tell everyone I (Tiff) did everything else or better known as the Heptathlon & Pole vault. Ricky had eyes on me since my first semester, but of course I played hard to get. Few months go by and our friend groups started hanging out together more, he started to make moves and grabbed my attention. It was then our relationship started taking off. Out of all of our adventurous dates I still remember our first official date. Ricky was taking me fishing and when I went over to his apartment his roommates made a bet with me that none of us would catch a fish… I was the only one to catch a fish! As our time together became more individual we soon feel in love with eachothers’ personality, driven mindset, competitive spirit, love for God, and compassion.

What was suppose to be a 3 day scholastic trip for a DPT conference turned into a full week of emotions. As part of the DPT programI had to attend a conference that was in San Diego; and it also just so happened to be on the same week as my “spring break” from courses. I’d talked to Ricky and convinced him to say yes to take a full week off of work and come “vacation” with me in San Diego. I created a whole travel plan with stops at Joshua Tree National park, Sunset cliffs, and downtown. It was at our last day in Joshua Tree and the timeline could not have been more perfect. I had a feeling to do my hair for pictures that day and the spot where it took place was also empty that morning. I told Rick we should do a video on his phone because it was way better quality than mine and I would go back and make edits later. We struck a few poses then that’s when he dropped to one knee and took me by surprise!! It felt as if time had stopped and he finally asked the question “Will You Marry Me?” The rest of the “scholastic” week was us enjoying the beaches and sunsets!
