Question

Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

The Landing in Shakopee, MN was formally named Murphy's Landing and it is a preserved historical town offering tours and demonstrations during the day. We have rented out the river overlook for our ceremony and the picnic shelter for the reception.

Question

In which part of The Landing is the wedding located?

Answer

We have rented the picnic shelter and the river overlook which is located in the north west corner of the town/park. You'll find us easily if you come to the west entrance and parking lot, plus you'll avoid a very long walk by coming to the correct side of the park!

Question

There are 2 entrances at the Landing. Which should I use?

Answer

Our part of the park is located at the west entrance. It has it's own parking lot on that side and you'll come in right next to our picnic shelter and river overlook rental area. Please enter and park in the west lot.

Question

Is there a contingency plan in case of inclement weather?

Answer

Yes! If the weather doesn't go our way, we will use the historic church building for our ceremony and we will lower the walls of the picnic shelter for the reception.

Question

Can I leave my car parked overnight?

Answer

Yes! We want everyone to have fun and be safe, so please don't drive if you're unsure that you can. The Landing will let us leave cars in the lot overnight as long as we give a quick call the the Shakopee police department to give them a heads up that it will be there. If needed, you can call (952) 233-9400

Question

Is it true this is a child-free event?

Answer

Yes, we are keeping this event 13+ to control our numbers and to keep stress to a minimum. We want to connect with all of our invited guest without distraction for all involved. There is also a safety factor as we're having an automatic playlist where not every song is child appropriate and there will be alcoholic beverages available but no bartender as we're self-catering to keep costs down. We would love if any parents could get a sitter and join us in celebrating, but understand if this prevents anyone from attending.

Question

What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please get your RSVPs in by July 1st, 2019

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

To keep things simple, you can RSVP right here on our website!

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

Right here on zola! There is a registry link right up top. For everyone's convenience, we aren't registered for any physical items as we've already owned our home for a few years and are all stocked up here. Instead, we have a honeymoon registry you may contribute to. We're most excited to spend time with all of you, so no need to donate if you're unable, but any amount is of course appreciated. We will also have a card box available at the wedding if you're bringing anything.

Question

What kind of food should I expect? Is it friendly to dietary restrictions?

Answer

Yes. We are keeping everything simple with a buffet with an assortment of choices that should meet anyone's needs or wants.

Question

Can I visit the landing during the day to see the tours and demonstrations?

Answer

Yes! The Landing is open from 10-5 on Saturdays and our wedding day is no exception. If you wanted to go early and visit, tickets are available at the east (main) entrance for $8 per person (seniors and kids $5). If you need to get to town early and would like something to do, it is a fun and affordable option.

For all the days along the way
