When should I plan to arrive in Hood River?

Answer

Friday 9/3 by 4:00pm PST. There will be an optional Friday welcome happy hour that we hope you will join. For the bridal party, we suggest arriving Wednesday 9/1 for bridal party events to take place on Thursday and the rehearsal on Friday.

If I'm flying into PDX, should I rent a car for the weekend?

Answer

Yes, renting a car is the easiest option. Bus/shuttle service is available but has many stops/transfers. The average Uber cost from PDX to Hood River is $100 and may be higher given our wedding is during the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Where should I book lodging?

Answer

Hood River is the biggest town near our wedding venue (15 min drive). Our wedding venue, Mt. Hood Organic Farms, is in the small town of Mt. Hood (which is near the actual mountain of Mt. Hood.) All wedding events for the weekend will be in Hood River. Shuttle service to and from Hood River and Mt. Hood Organic Farms will be provided on the day of the wedding. If you choose to stay in an AirBnb or equivalent, then please use Google Maps to confirm the location is near Hood River and/or Mt. Hood Organic Farms before booking.

What COVID-19 considerations should I take when traveling?

Answer

1. Consider getting a COVID-19 vaccination. 2. Comply with international and domestic travel recommendations. 3. Wear an N95 mask properly (covering your nose and mouth at all times) when in public. 4. Wash your hands often and/or use hand sanitizer before eating or touching your face. 5. Quarantine before and after travel to minimize the risk of getting sick and/or spreading COVID-19. 6. If sharing lodging with a member outside of your household, then please confirm that all parties agree to the above standards before sharing a living space. UPDATE 8/25/21: Masks are required indoors and outdoors in Oregon regardless of vaccination status (expect when eating or drinking at a table or social distancing).

What are your COVID-19 safety measures?

1. Fewer guests to allow for social distancing. 2. All events spaces have air flow. 3. Masks are required indoors and outdoors for all guests regardless of vaccination status (except when eating or drinking at a table or social distancing.) 4. Dinner tables grouped by households. 5. Varied lodging options. 6. Hand sanitizer, hand washing stations and extra masks will be available at all events. Note: Both David and Tiersa are COVID-19 vaccinated. UPDATE 8/25/21: Masks are required indoors and outdoors regardless of vaccination status (expect when eating or drinking at a table or social distancing).

Are any of your event venues requiring proof of vaccination?

Answer

No, as our venues are not requiring proof of vaccination. However, it is up to the discretion of any private business (specifically restaurants) to require proof of vaccination before entering the indoor facility. Please take this in to consideration when planning your trip; particularly if you’re spending some extra time in Portland.

What is the recommended wedding attire?

Answer

Cocktail attire is recommended. Please consider shoes that you'll feel confident wearing in the garden.

Will there be transportation to the wedding ceremony/reception?

Answer

Yes, shuttle service will be provided to and from Hood River and the wedding venue. The ceremony and reception will be held at Mt. Hood Organic Farms. Best Western Plus departure is at 2:40pm and Hampton Inn departure is at 3:00pm. Return shuttles will leave the wedding venue at 8:30pm and 10:00pm.

Are children (0-12) invited to the wedding?

Answer

Yes, all ages are welcome. We opted not to offer child care services because most families will be traveling from out of town. We figured everyone would be more comfortable to have their kiddos with them at the event.
