Luquen and I were introduced by a dear friend name Naketa Darrington in the latter part of 2016. We quickly found out through phone conversations and facebook messenger that we had a lot in common but were total opposites at the same time. Luquen was an absolute gentleman to me and very respectful to me and my kids and so our dating journey begin as the best of friends. Our first official date was Valentine Day. We went to the movies and although Luquen slept the entire movie, I knew it was his effort that counted being that he worked that day and drove straight into the movies. The following year became an official relationship after making our friendship foundation solid and we grew from there. It was very difficult due to the distance but where there is a will, there is a way and we did. Moving to Mobile for Luquen was one of our biggest challenges, it was a big merger for him, our children and myself. Yet and still we made it through. Many of days Luquen and I talked about marriage, however I never thought he was serious. We woke up one morning in March and decided to go to the Courthouse which was closed due to covid-19. That did not stop this unity. We completed our required documents and were able to make things official. We are ready to celebrate this unity with you all.
