In 2016, Alyssa moved to Florida for an internship at Walt Disney World and met Joshua as they worked in the same department. Though they didn't speak much during her internship, they remained Facebook friends. Fast forward 2 years when Alyssa moved back to Florida a second time and stopped by the office to say hello to a fellow co-worker who happened to be talking to Josh when she arrived so they said hello and he welcomed her back to Florida. Josh still recalls her catching his eye that day. A few months later, during a Giants (his team) vs Diamondbacks (her team) series, Giants first basemen, Brandon Belt scored a few too many home runs against the Diamondbacks. Alyssa was annoyed and posted on Instagram about her dislike of Belt... Josh then messaged her on Instagram, doating on his beloved Giants. They continued to talk and he finally asked her on a date a month later, they were inseparable ever since. Oh and don't worry, the Diamondbacks came through with the series win.

There isn't much that Alyssa loves more than Christmas time. She had always wanted to visit New York City at Christmas. She's always thought of NYC being magical just like in Home Alone 2 or Elf, or every Hallmark Christmas Movie. So, Josh surprised Alyssa with a trip to New York City December 7, 2018. While at Rockefeller Center he told her he loved her for the first time. Exactly one year later, December 7, 2019, he flew her to New York City to propose at Rockefeller Center and surprised her with her best friend (and their favorite third wheel) being there to take pictures and to spend the rest of the weekend with them. New York City is just as magical as she had always imagined, but now holds a special place in her heart.
