Gathering

As we gather in joy and gratitude we name the pain and injustice happening in the world, especially the ongoing occupation and genocide in Palestine. We hold this celebration in love and awareness. There is space here for anger, grief, reflection and hope.

Thank You

This marriage is happening because of the people in our lives. We feel so privileged and blessed by our family, friends and community. We think about this wedding as a celebration of the circles we are held by. And a chance to widen, deepen and join them. Thank you to our parents. Mama and Baba and Mom and Dad. You all have supported us, loved us and laughed with us. We are here because of you. Thank you to our siblings, cousins and families. Thank you for traveling to choose dresses and making sure we actually pick a date. Thank you to our friends for protesting with us, cutting invitations with us and so much more over the years. Thank you to our artists. We are blessed with talented and generous friends.

Proposal

We got engaged at McKees Half Falls Rest Area in Port Treverton, Pennsylvania. Because it was right and it was time. We were not planning on stopping or proposing. But we walked down to the river. It was a peaceful place. We talked. Reconnected with each other and knew that it was time. Zander didn't have a ring so Tiba said to use a rock. So he grabbed a rock and a flower and she said yes.
