We met in the middle of the pandemic. When the whole island stood still we met on social media. We were both finding sobriety and figuring out life. Neither one of us thought that we were ready for a relationship but the universe had other plans. Our love has survived so many challenges, from Drug court to no contact orders. Ups and downs just like any other couple. But through out it all we stood stronger together.

William would always say “I’m going to marry you woman”.Oh how we thought that we would never be ready for marriage again. Either one of us knew how we were meant for each other. But again the fates were on our side. He showed her his most vulnerable side and asked her to be his in this life time and the next. She in return showed him compassion and unconditional love and said yes. With the blessing of her children, they welcomed him into their home and lives.

2 years into our engagement we decided to pick a date. We chose June 1st 2026 because of the Hina or moon cycle. Our ancestors have always shown their presence when we would speak of our possible union in the form of our Aumakua. Owls would be spotted, which was rare. Hawaiian hawks would call to us. Even the turtles and the sharks would make their presence known. The mo’o would also call to us. Nature always had a way of showing us it was in the universes design. June 1st 2026 falls under the Akua moon.
