Tiare and Erik are both from the south side of Oahu. Waikiki is where Tiare calls home. She graduated from Kaimuki High School, go Bulldogs! During her youth she could be found at Bowls ripping her longboard, traveling the world with her Nana and Papa, or styling her girlfriends and younger cousins. Erik hails from Kaimuki, but was born in Kenosha, Wi. His parents took him back to Honolulu when he was just two years old. He is a Crusader, and is a graduate of Saint Louis Schools. Erik grew up playing baseball, and basketball, as well as practicing Aikido. Tiare and Erik lived and grew up within two miles of each other, but did not meet until they both worked at Tiki’s Grill & Bar. Tiare was working as a host and Erik had just made bartender in 2009. The sparks really started to fly during a night event called Pink Tiki’s, and ten years later, here we are today.
After a personal development seminar, by a special company, Tiare and Erik were sitting on the couch in their living room reflecting on their week in Colorado. Erik, shared with Tiare that in one of the exercises, he had envisioned that one year from now they were married and had “a bun in the oven.” He then looked into Tiare’s eyes, and popped the question. Tiare said yes! Erik then realized he needed a ring, and took the ring off of Tiare’s right hand that he had given to her seven years ago, and put it on her left hand (for the time being).
