It all began in the summer of 2018 at Tennessee State University’s Aristocrat of Bands freshman band camp. Amidst the booming cadence of drums and the warm brass melodies, a young drummer from Huntsville, Alabama, crossed paths with a French Horn player from Olive Branch, Mississippi. Just like that, fate began orchestrating a love story for the ages. Travion: “From the moment she walked across the stage to introduce herself, I knew she would be mine.” A few weeks later, destiny intervened once more—this time, in the financial aid line. Tiara: “And here’s where we always debate who made the first move. But, for the sake of the story, let’s just say HE asked for MY number.” And with that exchange, a beautiful friendship was born. From being bus buddies on band trips and sharing meals in the café to late-night study sessions in the library and Sunday walks to church, their bond grew deeper with each passing day. It wasn’t long before friendship turned into something more. On August 29, 2020, after two years of undeniable chemistry, Travion finally asked Tiara to be his girlfriend—sealing our love and giving the Usher & Lil Jon anthem “Lovers and Friends” a whole new meaning. Together, they traveled, explored, and stood by each other’s side through life’s greatest adventures. One of those adventures led them to St. Louis, Missouri, where they began building a life together. Oh, and you can’t forget the addition of their fur baby, Loki! Then, on August 29, 2024, under the perfect sky and in the perfect moment, Travion got down on one knee and popped the question. Tiara responded with a resounding “YES” to the love of her life.
