Cordero and I have know each other since 3rd grade. We were in the same class - Mrs. Lilly's class. Till this day, both of us consider her our favorite teacher. I always thought he was cute. He had the cutest little mole on his face (still does of course). After 3rd grade we loss touch and he actually moved to Delaware. We ran into each other a few times the summer of 2005 after high school graduation. The first of these run ins was at VA Beach. It had been 10 years and we still recognized each other! We were only 3rd graders the last time we saw each other. Then, we had another run in one Saturday night at a popular club we used to go to back in the day. We hung out a few times that summer, reconnected, and developed a good friendship. I knew it was going to be short lived though because college was around the corner. He went off to study at Norfolk State University while I stayed home to go to Community College and later VCU. At this point I didn't want to start anything serious with him since we were both starting our first year of college. We sort of lost contact after that summer until his final year in college. I actually reached out to him on Facebook. This is when we finally decided to take our relationship serious in 2011. I could tell that he had matured a lot. He would come back to Richmond every weekend to spend time and I would travel up to Norfolk to visit him as well. The rest was history! It's almost like it was fate. We just kept running into each other and rekindling feelings. In 2012 we welcomed our first child and went on to have two more in 2017 and 2018. Now here we are finally ready to make this officially official! Although we may have done things a little backwards, this is our story and we believe everything happens the way it’s supposed to and in God’s timing. We are excited about our future and finally becoming Husband and Wife.
Cordero proposed on Christmas Eve at my parent's house and it was absolutely beautiful. He invited our closest family and friends to witness the proposal. My sister decorated the back yard and it was so magical. Hands down one of the best moments ever!
