How We Met

12.18.15

Tianna’s version: One of my best friends and bridesmaids, Brittany Gray, invited me to go on a cabin trip in Blue Ridge Mountains for one of her friend’s going away celebration. I told her I would think about it (I really didn’t want to go). I told myself if I was able to get off work that weekend I would consider accompanying her on the trip. I ended up getting the weekend off so I decided to go! Look at God! The night we were leaving for Blue Ridge, everyone met up at another friend's house. It was literally like 15 plus people there and I didn’t know anyone besides Britt. That night, I remember noticing this tall, handsome guy (David). And that was that. During the cabin trip, David and I only exchanged a few small words, nothing more. The morning of the last day of the cabin trip, four of us decided to get breakfast before heading back to Atlanta and David was among the four. By the end of breakfast, the four of us made plans to hang out that evening. Later that evening, David and I exchanged contact information and the rest is history.

The Proposal

3.01.20

A few days leading up to the proposal, David told me he was planning a nice date night at American Cut on March 1st. Little did I know, David already told my Mom and sister that he was planning to propose that day. During that week, my sister kept mentioning that we should go get our nails done together. It still didn’t click to me that the proposal was the reason why. The evening of the proposal, David and I enjoyed a great dinner at American Cut Steakhouse. Somehow, we got on the subject of a pervious date we had during our early years of dating...at the Sky View ferris wheel. Once dinner was over, David mentioned how we should go back to the ferris wheel since it was still early. I told him I was tired and ready to go home lol. After a little more prodding from David, I agreed to go. Once there, we took photos and then got inside the ferris wheel. When we got to the very top overlooking Downtown Atlanta, he turned on music and we recorded ourselves on his iPhone (it wasn’t out of the ordinary for us lol). Then all of a sudden I see David drop to the ground and pull out a box! He asked me if I would marry him and I said of course!!
