Answers to frequently asked questions regarding our wedding day!
Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4 p.m. on April 3rd, 2023. Finding parking in the street and surrounding area may be challenging so please allot time accordingly if driving to the venue. We kindly ask all guests to arrive 20-30 minutes prior to the start time to be seated in advance of the ceremony which will begin on time.

Question

Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will both be located at The Merrimon-Wynne House in Raleigh, North Carolina. The address is 500 N Blount St, Raleigh, NC 27604. The ceremony will start promptly at 4PM. We ask all guests to please arrive 20-30 minutes in advance of our ceremony start time.

Question

Where can I park before the ceremony?

Answer

All of the streets surrounding the Merrimon-Wynne House offer street parking at no charge. The venue asks that you do not attempt to park at the occupied NC State Ethics Commission lot across the street as you will be towed. Paid parking is also offered at Deck 75 directly behind the North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs building for a brief walk to the venue location. Please dedicate ample time to find parking and be seated ahead of the ceremony at 4 PM.

Question

Can I take photos at the ceremony?

Answer

We do ask that you refrain from taking any photos or videos during the ceremony portion of our wedding. We kindly ask that all phones should be on silent or off and stowed during this time. We would like this time to be unplugged for all to enjoy the ceremony and be uninterrupted for our professional wedding photographer and videographer.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! The required dress code for our wedding is all black formal attire. To create an elevated and cohesive event, ladies should wear the color black in formal dress attire and gentlemen should wear a black suit or sports coat. Please no colorful attire, jeans, or white dresses/pants. We kindly ask every guest to be included in our wedding day by wearing black formal attire!

Question

Is there transportation to the ceremony?

Answer

We are not providing any formal transportation for this event, as our ceremony and reception are taking place at the same venue. However, there is street parking surrounding the venue for those able to drive in. Additionally, both Uber and Lyft is plentiful in the area for our out of town guests.

Question

Can I bring a date/plus one?

Answer

Due to venue and cost limitations, we are sadly unable to accept any additional guests beyond what is listed on your RSVP. We will only be able to accommodate those listed by name on your digital RSVP and invitation.

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

Unfortunately no. While we love our little ones on both sides, our wedding will be a strictly adult-centered affair. We appreciate arrangements for all children to be made ahead of time for adults to celebrate with us.

Question

I forgot to RSVP, can I still attend?

Answer

As much as we will miss your presence, if you do not submit your RSVP by the deadline of Feb 14th, 2023 you will not be able to attend the ceremony or reception. If you RSVP and are later unable to attend, please update your status online at the RSVP link and let us know as early as possible so we can update the final headcount accordingly with our caterer and venue.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

We hope you’ll be able to join us! When you receive your formal invitation, there will be an RSVP QR Code on the back that one member of your party will need to scan to fill out. This will have each invited guest in your party listed by name. RSVP’s will close and not reopen on February 14th, 2023. RSVP’s will only be accepted by those listed directly on your formal mailed invitation. Due to venue and catering constrictions, we cannot accept any RSVP's or attendees beyond this date. Please RSVP, either “will attend” or “will not attend”, for all of the members of your party listed on your invitation by name. If this status changes at any point before February 14th, please update your RSVP digitally. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you are unable to scan your QR code or need assistance with your RSVP!

Question

What is the final deadline for submitting my RSVP?

Answer

The final deadline is February 14th, 2023. Due to venue constrictions, we cannot accept any RSVP's or attendees beyond this date. Please RSVP, either “will attend” or “will not attend”, only for the members of your party listed on your invitation by name.
