We had known of each other when we were younger, however we went to different schools and in different grades. It was at a summer family party at the Warner’s. I had chipmunk cheeks, braces and in an awkward bathing suit that didn’t fit right. Edward was in a relationship at the time, so it didn’t make sense anyway. To this day, he claims he noticed me and thought I was cute… Okay, sure. Flash forward to the Winter of 2016, I was home from college. My dad ran the Vasta’s bowling alley, and my mom was in a men’s league with Ed’s father, Big Ed. Big Ed would always talk to me, and one day he brought up his son. He kept saying how he was a such a good boy, and how he was recently single. He introduced us because Ed was also on a bowling team. As the weeks went on, I would serve Ed bowling shoes and beers. We would flirt, but we never exchanged numbers. When the winter break ended, I went back to college. Two weeks in, my mom called me and told me, Big Ed told her that Ed tried to go to the deli where I worked, but once he heard that I was back at college, suddenly, he didn’t need to go to the deli anymore for cold cuts. With my busy schedule, the only time I would call my mom and catch up was during bowling night. One night, I called my mom, and of course she brought up Edward in the conversation, and she even tried to put him on the phone! As soon as she passed the phone, I hung up. Now Thursday, March 17th, 2016 rolls around, and it was league night. I was home for spring break since Saturday. I was nervous and excited to go to the bowling alley. I would serve Ed the usual bowling shoes and beers. I was texting my friend, Dakota, about whether to give him my number. By the end of the night, I got the courage: Just before Ed walked out, I gave him my number. He swears that he was going to come back and ask. We went on our first date the next day, 03/18/16. We continued talking for the rest of the semester and made it official 06/25/16. The rest is history.
