The Smithsonian network consists of 20 museums and galleries (mostly located in D.C., along the National Mall) as well as the National Zoo. You don't need tickets for most museums and the Zoo is also free.
All visitors, including children, need a timed-entry pass. You can reserve up to nine (9) free timed-entry passes per person, groups of 10 or more must purchase passes. Veterans, active-duty personnel, and first responders can show their military or work ID badge at the museum to register for entry. What to Expect: The museum is open daily. All visitors must enter and exit on Madison Drive. The museum features exhibits on African and African American culture, arts, music, the military, and athletics, and also has artifacts.
