We met while working together at Maple Bluff Country Club in the fall of 2016. Andy began to offer Tia rides home from work since she was finishing her last year of undergrad and did not have a car. Although Tia did not know it at the time, he was driving 30 minutes in the wrong direction in order to drive her home after a work shift! Eventually Tia began wondering when Andy was going to ask her on a date. She finally asked him if he would go to a work party with her in early February 2017 and the rest is history!

We flew out to California to spend a long weekend with some of Andy's family in November 2021. On one of the days there, we drove out to DaVero Winery to visit his aunt and uncle who own it. We had a delicious lunch with Andy's family and afterwards, Andy asked Tia to walk down to the pond located at the property. On the short walk, Andy told Tia how much he loved her and that "he was sorry it had taken so long." He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. It was a very easy yes!
