I have known DeVonte for 7-8 years. Right away, I knew it was going to be a privilege to be part of his story. And right away, I knew part of his story was Kiarra. I remember the first time me and my wife met her. She stepped away for a minute and we said to DeVonte privately, "KEEP HER!" He did, and we are so honored and excited to be part of their unfolding story. We know God has really good things for them. Anyone who knows them knows they are special, and their big day is going to be special too.

After graduating from Valdosta State University with a BA in International Business, I enlisted into the world’s finest United States Navy as a Logistic Specialist where I am now stationed in North Carolina. I had the privilege of meeting Kiarra through XChange Ministries at VSU. The closer we grew, the more I heard about her friendship with Devonte. After hearing so much about him, I finally had the opportunity of meeting him in person at a game night. He definitely fit her description. In fact, they were so much alike. The years invested in trusting the Lord’s plans for the direction of their growing relationship has been encouraging to be apart of, even from a distance. I am in awe of the selfless love that flows deeply between the two. Their relationship is worth witnessing and learning from. After graduation I began exploring different adventures of work, such as retail, online sales and merchandising, branding, social media marketing, as well as web development. Even though DeVonte and I attended Toccoa Falls College together, I met him through a summer immersion program called Aliquippa Impact. After getting to know him from the summer, I ended up meeting his then girlfriend, now fiancé Kiarra. It is exciting to see Kiarra and DeVonte very much in love with each other to embark on a journey with Christ at the center.

Hey everyone! My name is Cassandra McBride!! Although I was born and raised in Statesboro, Ga, I have been living in Valdosta, Ga for about a decade now - and thank God! Because this is how I got to meet & develop a meaningful relationship with the one and only Kiarra! Throughout us growing in our ministry and life together, I learned that Kiarra was dating this guy who I had yet to meet at the time. I had the pleasure of having shared in some of the high and low times in her relationship with DeVonte. I got to see her love for Devonte and her love for God. No matter the hurt or the cost of the choice or instruction God put before her, she always chose God! Her love for Him was always greater! I saw this not just in her words but also in her actions! She lovingly followed God even in the letting go and in the waiting. Now that the waiting is over, there is so much joy, fruit, contentment and excitement from her surrender. Now we see with our own eyes that everything is beautiful in its time! And no good thing will God withhold from those who walk uprightly. Love yall!!

I've known Kiarra and DeVonte nearly my whole life. I'm a cousin of Kiarra's, but she's always felt like a big sister to me, and DeVonte was like a cool older brother. They've just always been in my life, and I wouldn't have it any other way; I love the both of them so much! I can see nothing but amazing things for their future as a married couple. They've always seemed right for each other, even when I was younger. It was always clear that they made each other happy (even when they argued!), and I'm sure they'll continue doing that no matter the obstacles that may come their way.

I met DeVonte years later when Kiarra and I were seniors in High School!! The same year the two begin dating. And they’ve been lovers and friends every since. To the Thrones To-Be: I believe that your marriage will be an example to others on what a Godly marriage should look like. A Godly marriage is not perfect. No marriage is, and God never promised it, but what will be different in your marriage is that I believe y’all will continue to allow God to have the upper hand in all situations. Whether Good, Bad, or Ugly, God will always be the decision maker in y’all marriage and you and DeVonté as husband and wife will follow TOGETHER as the Holy Spirit leads.
