This story begins during the fall of 2014, in one of America’s most distinguished neighborhoods, Dinkytown Minneapolis. One night at an apartment party on campus, Madeline could not help but notice the tall drink of water across the room. A few minutes and one of Chris' unforgettable hair flips later, she walked up to him, and the rest is history. Both graduated from University of Minnesota and found themselves on the west coast where they spent three years soaking up the SoCal sun, cruising the pacific coast highway, and crushing cali style breakfast burritos. After multiple visits to friends and family in Manhattan, they fell for the city’s energy (and its pizza). Before they knew it, their bags were packed and they were east coast bound! Under a year into their NYC adventure, Chris and Maddy decided to take advantage of the close proximity to the Caribbean. Flights booked and an engagement ring securely packed in Chris' suitcase, they were ready for the beach. Two days before departure, a global pandemic hit, the trip was cancelled, and 6 months of quarantining went by with the ring hidden in Chris' sock drawer. When they were ready to venture out again, Utah was quick to come to mind. Fresh air, incredible views, and plenty of space to explore. After a 181 day delay to his initial engagement date, Chris proposed mountainside within 30 minutes of arrival, and the start of their forever began on September 15, 2020. We could not be more thrilled to celebrate with all of you, in a city so near and dear to our hearts. San Diego is a key part of our love story, and holds many of our favorite memories as a couple.
