Through our years in college and post grad, Jake and I were seen at the same party's, but were never formally introduced until November 2018 when we joined the same dodgeball team with our best man and maid of honor through an intermural sports league in Baltimore. After a couple of months of hanging out and a little texting here and there, I was sure Jake was ready to take our friendship to the next level and kiss me at midnight on New Years 2019. Much to my dismay, that did not happen, and a few hours later I gave up and went back home. Jake soon realized he made a huge mistake by not kissing me and called an Uber to my house around 3 am where we had our first kiss. Probably the most romantic thing he's done to this day. A few days later we went on our first date, and a few weeks later, he asked me to make our relationship official.
Anyone who knows me, knows I am very nosy. Anyone who knows Jake, knows he can't keep a secret. That's not a good combination when it comes to planning a surprise proposal. As soon as Jake mentioned to me we should go to Havre de Grace, a town about an hour away from us that we've never been to before, I was immediately suspicious. When we arrived, we walked along the waters edge and when we reached the lighthouse, Jake said he couldn't wait any longer and got down on one knee.
