We met at New Life Tabernacle church before Pastor Collins’ Monday night bible study. Our friend Lauren introduced us as he was her coworker at the time. At first I just kinda thought he was cute and all and mentioned so to Lauren but didn’t think about it too much after that. We hung out again at NAYC and at this point I knew I liked him. I was so nervous though I ended up only giving him like one word answers to his questions! I’m pretty sure he thought I hated him lol. But over time our friendship grew and I began to fall for him and his crazy self and even more so for his love and passion for God. I remember one particular time we went ice skating and really got to talking and it just felt like I had known him for years. He shares my passion for reaching people and spreading the gospel and I am truly blessed to call this man my fiancé and soon to be husband! I can’t wait to start this new journey with Devonte and see what else God has in store for the both of us.

Just a few years ago my walk with God truly started. Wanting more of Him and chasing Him became something that I couldn’t deny anymore. After experiencing Acts 2:38 by being baptized in the name of Jesus and filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues, I began to ask God to lead me to a new church home. I was just looking for a church, but as we know, God can do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or think. God did exactly that. A coworker at the time told me about her church New Life Tabernacle. I asked if they baptized in Jesus name and believed in speaking in tongues, and she said yes. Let’s just say I visited and never left. I ended up meeting Sarah at this church and we developed a friendship over time. Before long, her little face would turn red and I knew she liked me. Who could of thought that I would be asking her hand in marriage? I was looking for a church, but God allowed me to find something more than that. Someone who is loving, kind, funny, passionate, talented, smart, and has long hair. It doesn’t get any better than that. They say if your chasing after Jesus, find someone who is chasing him just as much as you or more. I think she does a pretty good job and I look forward to running this race with her as we spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
