Invisible String Theory

If you ask the couple, Caroline and Shawn’s story started when Caroline met Shawn’s sister at a bachelorette party. But God had already started their story years prior in an elementary school. Caroline and Shawn’s story started long before they were actually introduced to each other. Going to the same elementary, middle and high school, they were put in the same area but never crossed paths. They even went to the same summer party held by Caroline’s classmate and Shawn's friend and neighbor, but never spoke. The invisible string theory is a concept of two people consistently crossing paths before officially meeting and that is where their story began. Fast forward 20 years later, Caroline goes to a bachelorette party for bridesmaid Kiersten where she meets Shawn’s sister Kelsey. After a day or two of Kelsey getting to know Caroline she decided that she should meet her brother. Stating, “you both are kind of weird, I think you should meet my brother.” She then proceeded to tell Caroline all about Shawn, where he worked, what he likes and why we would get along. Caroline didn’t really think much of it as Shawn had just moved to Connecticut and long distance is never ideal. Kelsey told Caroline she would meet Shawn at Kiersten's wedding. The wedding rolled around, the Thompson’s and the Horn’s were sitting at the same table and Shawn was not there. Shawn had to work and was unable to make it. To say the conversation would continue to stray to how amazing Shawn is happened more often than to not be on purpose. Shawn's sister and mom have to be the best wingwomen out there. The night goes on and Kelsey takes Caroline's phone and texts him, sending a picture of Caroline and Shawn’s mom. From there they continued to text for a little bit, and the first time they met “face to face” was on facetime. That facetime lasted 7 hours. The first time they talked it felt as if they had known each other their entire lives. Conversation was easy, and flowed as if they were life long friends. From there they were hooked on each other; texting all day long and facetiming every night. They decided to start writing letters to each other. Good old fashion snail mail. Love letters. After some time, the letters and facetimes just weren't enough and it was time they met in person. A month later they met in Philadelphia. Coffee at a cute coffee shop and drinks at a bar where Caroline’s cousin worked, the love was evident and hard to miss. They had their first kiss on that date, and after that they kept growing closer and closer. Caroline took a leap of faith and moved to Connecticut. They eventually bought their first house and lived there for a year. And just last year, they decided to make a big move back to their hometown in Maryland and plant their roots. A lot of life changes in a short period of time, but with no regrets because it all led to this moment and the hope of a bright future where they grew up. Everything came full circle somehow and now they are grateful for each other, the life they live, and the invisible strings that brought them together.
