Before graduating from New Hope Christian College Michael received an opportunity to youth pastor at Creekside Church in Martinez, California. At the time Cheyenne had been apart of youth staff. The first time they met was in a rundown bowling alley in mid spring. It wasn’t the most glamorous of places but it was an opportunity for everyone to get to know Michael better. After a few rounds and chatting here and there they said their goodbyes unsure if they’d see eachother again. That summer Michael decided to pursue his dream. He said goodbye to his hometown in Oregon and moved to the East Bay. After a year of serving together on Wednesday nights and spontaneous outings Michael, unaware to Cheyenne, started to have feelings for her. During a rainy night in San Francisco Michael shared his feelings. She wasn’t so sure knowing that he would be moving back to Oregon in a few days. Some time passed since Michael moved then one day he strikes up a conversation that the Dodgers and Giants will be playing soon. Michael drives down that following week and takes Cheyenne on a date to AT&T park. During that time he extends an invitation to visit his hometown knowing that she’s been thinking of going to college there for some time. Having the desire to move to Oregon for four years now she hops on a plane and spends the week discovering all that it has to offer. Falling in love with the people and scenery Cheyenne and Michael begin dating in July and she decides to move that August. Fast forward to February 9th and a drive through the snowy woods to Pacific City they spent the day at the coast. After lunch, a visit to a coffee shop and hiking up a steep hill to a breathtaking lookout Michael asked Cheyenne to marry him. And of course, the answer was yes.
