While heading to their friends' wedding, little did they know they'd be on a collision course with each other. With the wedding being a few days after graduation and so close to school for Evan and Ashley being a bridesmaid, they decided to head to the wedding a few days early. They met on a group outing on 5/28/2018 and spent the day hanging out with the group. Later that night, they expressed to friends their respective intrigues and the spark was started. After coincidentally ending up working together for wedding prep and then dancing all night during the wedding, the spark that had started caught fire. It seemed to be in God's plan that though they met in New York, they happened to live just over an hour apart in Texas. After a spontaneous invite to another of Evan's friends' wedding in Texas, the flame continued to grow. Evan, seizing the opportunity, pushed for a follow on date, this time not at a wedding, the following Monday. And so, on 6/4/2018 they went on their first date. A few weeks later, they made things official on 6/18/2018 when Evan stumbled his way through asking Ashley to be his girlfriend. The rest of the summer was spent with Evan traveling back and forth to Austin to see Ashley at nearly every opportunity he had. On 7/23, Evan reported to Fort Benning where Ashley assisted him and his father with the move. With this, the distance began but the relationship only grew stronger. Though they didn't immediately admit it, they knew their feelings were growing stronger and stronger and there seemed to be only one destination for this relationship. On 12/9/2018, they took the next step when Evan got down on one knee on the banks of the Chattahoochee River in Columbus, GA. Ashley ecstatically nodded yes and their feelings were confirmed. Now we're here. Ready to celebrate the union of these 2 on 7/27/2019, almost exactly 14 months after meeting. I hope you enjoyed not our story, but God's story for us, it has been quite the journey and He is so good.
