We both attended the same church growing up. We were just far enough apart in age to never be in the same Sunday School class so it wasn't until we were both in the youth group that we got to know each other better. It took a few years a little growing up to figure out that our friendship could be something more and that's when we started spending time together and decided we might be more than just friends.

It was a chilly Friday night in December when Thomas was back from his Army training in Missouri and was adamant about going to see the Columbus Zoo Lights. Ashlee was hesitant to go out in not-so-great weather but Thomas persisted with the help of Sarah and David and off we went to the zoo. We walked around trying to find a good spot to take some pictures and just when Ashlee thought it was time to move on, Thomas asked, "How about we take a couple pictures like this?" and pulled out a ring and proposed. Ashlee said yes and here we are.
