This is a great place to spend the day walking through waterfalls, experiencing traditional Costa Rican culture, and getting an up-close view of the wildlife. They have some large cat exhibits, a butterfly atrium, a frog exhibit, and home and presentations that demonstrate early life in Costa Rica.
This is a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature and wildlife. Its a eco-friendly spa and resort, with lodging crafting from re-used shipping containers. This area is also known for its beautiful and plentiful waterfalls. Recommended by one of Kevin's cousins.
This is great museum that is near the Raddison. It hosts a history of art and money in Costa Rica, with the lower floors displaying ancient Costa Rican gold wares including armor, nicknacks, and jewelry. You can get through this museum in approximately two hours so it is a great excursion if you get in on Thursday night or early Friday morning. NOTE: The Entrance to the museum is underground, below the National Theatre.
This is the closest of Doug's surf spots in Costa Rica. It is an easy town to navigate for tourists, has a ton of things to do for families, and has a great night life for those that like to party.
For our guest looking for a relaxing and more luxurious beach vacation, the Marriott in Herradura comes highly recommended by Kevin's family.
