We met during the first semester of our freshman year of college in 2014. We had a History class that only met once a week. Let's just say, Kerry loved coming to class every Monday. We quickly became friends, and Kerry would ask me to help him "study" (haha). After a few hangouts and parties together, we realized we had a great friendship. During our spring semester in 2015 we decided to give it a go and date romantically. BUT, neither of us were quite ready to settle down so after two ridiculous weeks, we broke it off. Although we weren't together anymore romantically we still cared about each other very deeply so we kept our friendship going strong. Fast forward to July 2016 when Kerry invited me to come to his house warming party. For some reason, this weekend sparked a new flame between us and we instantly became inseparable. November 2016 we decided to make it "official" this time and we never looked back! We graduated together in 2018, moved to GA, moved back to Austin, and now we are raising our 2 dogs and so excited to be entering this new chapter!!!
When COVID hit at the start of 2020 we knew we wouldn't be getting to travel much. By September 2020 the cases were slowing down a bit and we really wanted to do something for my 25th birthday. We decided a beach trip would be the safest option so Galveston became our destination. The day of the proposal Kerry and I spent the morning at the beach just us two, enjoying each others company. I kept telling him and our other friends that had come along that I really wanted to go to the boardwalk. So, that night we all got dressed and walked over to the boardwalk. (I wore cargo pants and tennis shoes obviously thinking I was going to be riding rides LOL). I love funnel cakes, so I asked my friend to come stand in line with me so I could get my beloved treat. At this point, Kerry had disappeared to go play games...or so I thought.. After I sat down to eat it, my other friend consistently kept pushing me to go play the "Wack A Mole" game with her. At this point, I’m slightly getting hangry, because all a girl wanted was to her funnel cake in peace..but nevertheless, I got up to go play the dang game. Little did I know, winning this game was going to change my life forever! After my friend let me win (she was in on it the whole time and somehow I never caught on even when she was so adamant that we play LOL) the game attendant told me to choose a prize, I had had a few drinks before the boardwalk so it was taking me a while to make a decision. LOL so naturally I asked the group to help me choose, selected the stuffed frog and was instead handed a small silver box. This is when I KNEW something was happening. Kerry snatched the box from my hand and before I knew it, he was down on one knee and the rest was a blur. September 18, 2020 was one of the best days of my life. Oh, and I got to keep the stuffed frog too. ;)
