We're getting married!

Dear Friends & Family, As you know the situation with COVID-19 is still unfolding. As such, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our wedding. Sofia decided to go out dancing in downtown Salt Lake City with her friends. That same night Thomas was talked into going out by his friends (which is shocking because he never goes out anymore). When Thomas walked into the venue that night, he and his friends immediately noticed Sofia and her group of friends and knew they had to get their attention somehow. So they made their way through the crowds and "bumped" into them. Thomas was not shy and started a conversation with Sofia but she was still feeling nervous. Sofia eventually dragged her friends away from the conversation because she never thought she would have a chance with this guy. They made their way to the dance floor and enjoyed their night. Eventually, Thomas made his way back to Sofia, but this time she didn't leave. They enjoyed each others company all night and exchanged numbers. They never stopped talking since...

Thomas and Sofia were very nontraditional and picked out Sofia's wedding ring together. This was difficult for Sofia because she knew she had a ring but Thomas had hid it somewhere in their apartment. On a random Wednesday, Thomas went to a local park and staked out an area to propose. There was a bridge over a river which seemed like the most romantic spot to pop the question. Thomas asked Sofia to get off work early that day to go to dinner. Sofia thought this was a nice gesture and was excited to go out and eat. Thomas and Sofia were on their way to a very popular Mexican restaurant but Thomas was going the wrong way. Sofia kept correcting him and Thomas' would just brush her off. However, Sofia continued to nag about the directions and eventually Thomas told her they were going to a park... that's when Sofia understood what was going to happen. They get to the park and the bridge is in the distance. Thomas has the ring in his pocket and had already envisioned what was going to happen. The couple gets to the bridge and noticed a family was taking pictures. This shattered Thomas' plan and he didn't know what to do. Sofia noticed how uneasy Thomas was so she encouraged him to walk further. Eventually they found a secluded part of the river with a small waterfall and Thomas finally asked Sofia to be his wife. The proposal was no shock but the anticipation made the experience unforgettable.
