Sara moved to Salt Lake City for a travel nursing contract at the beginning of November 2022. She became good friends with a co-worker, Abby, who was also good friends with Thomas. Abby set the two up and they quickly went on their first date. Little did Abby know, she matched up a pair who would be spending the rest of their lives together. A few days after knowing one another, Thomas took Sara skiing where she had to quickly learn how to keep up with his group of friends on the mountain. Thomas and Sara fell in love that winter- skiing endless days together and being inseparable living just 4 blocks away from each other. Fast forward to May and they bought a camper van together, known as Big Blue. Others were a little skeptical of this big step, but the couple knew where things were heading. Exactly 10 months after purchasing Big Blue, Thomas led Sara up Mt Wolverine on an intense backcountry ski day to propose in a whiteout storm. Needless to say, the short 3 month stop Sara intended for ended up being a lifelong destination filled with the biggest blessing of all time, and Thomas's life changed forever; all thanks to their dear friend Abby.
