But first, a back story.. I graduated respiratory therapy school in May of 2017. I applied to three hospitals, and interviewed with all three. I was at my parents house one day when Tanner called me to officially offer me a job, to which I accepted. But at that same moment, before I could even hang up, another caller was beeping in. When I answered, it was actually another hospital that I had interviewed with calling to do the same, to which I declined since I had just accepted the position at Tanner. Now, on to the good stuff. Thomas and I met on night shift at Tanner, he is an ICU nurse, and an excellent one at that. I was immediately drawn to his fun personality. I put a little whisper in some co-workers ears to basically see how he felt and I guess he liked me too because he asked me on a date! (September 28, 2017) We went to an arcade place and had literally the best time, ever. No awkward moments, nothing. We felt like we'd known each other forever. We laughed, I beat him at go-carts (which is the only time I've won since). And to top things off, he watched me engorge a plate of nachos and still asked me on a second date, and the rest is history! So, that one moment changed our lives forever!
We went on a cruise in June of 2018 with a couple of friends (Jenny and Kyle). The first night of the cruise, Thomas got me to pick out his outfit for the night (which he never does), and waited for me to get ready and never complained because he didn't want me to feel rushed getting ready for this moment. Before dinner we went down to the bar and got us a drink and he asked if I wanted to go to the top of the boat before dinner and look at the sunset. (It was the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen) I could tell he was nervous, and there we went. We got to the top of the boat and were being all lovey dovey and he was telling me how much he loved me, when he started to get down on one knee and asked "Will you marr--"... I didn't even let him finish the sentence and barely get down on his knee before I was screaming "YEESSSS!" Best day ever!
