In order to ensure you have a great trip I wanted to highlight some areas to avoid and recommend!
I would strongly recommend against staying in the neighborhood near the Boardwalk (indicated in red).
I have highlighted the location of the wedding below and a few neighborhoods Min and I have have enjoyed booking on either Airbnb.com or VRBO.com
West Side Cliffs - a quiet neighborhood full of houses for rent and has great walks along the cliffs
Downtown Santa Cruz - a lot of shops, cafes, and restaurants in walking distance on Pacific Ave
Pleasure Point - Like the Westside this is a sleepy neighborhood with great beaches and walks and is where I used to live!
41st Avenue - a few hotels, restaurants and nice neighborhoods surrounding.
Capitola - a very cute area on the water with shops and restaurants.
