Tom and I had been working together on the same shift and in the same department for a few years before actually going out together in October of 2018. I knew within a month and a half that I had found that special something that I had almost given up searching for. We moved in together in March 2019 and quickly realized we needed more space for us and our fur babies. We became homeowners in August of 2020. It’s amazing how far we’ve come and I’m looking forward to the future!

Tom told me of his plans to propose on our Pleasant Hill vacation in front of our parents and family friends, but sadly, he had to change his plans as the vacation got cancelled due to Covid. Instead, I got home from a typical work day and the apartment was completely dark. I knew something was going on since Tom was home. There were glow in the dark letters on the wall telling me to go into our bedroom. I opened the door to more glow in the dark letters on the wall saying to turn on the light. I flipped the light switch and Tom was on his knee with a ring and asking me to spend the rest of our lives together. The proposal may not have been what he originally planned, but it couldn’t have meant more to me than it did. It was the best day of my life!
