Margaret and Tommy met in 2009 amidst the fallout from the Great Financial Crisis and a period of great economic uncertainty. Thankfully, they were 12 years old and lacked a fundamental understanding of economics and relationships. Fast forward to 2014, and the two became high school sweethearts following a would-be dance (proposed by Margaret) turned card game (countered by Tommy) that ended with Margaret winning nearly every hand. Tommy didn’t walk away feeling like anything less than a winner himself, having found love (aw!) After eight years, it was Tommy’s turn to make a proposal; he proposed in The Ramble, a woodland landscape in Central Park with twisting paths that they often visit on weekends to see the Azalea Pond. Thankfully, Margaret didn’t make a counteroffer! Now, the happy couple spends their time writing about themselves in the third person for wedding websites and registries. To this day, Margaret still wins every “hand”; the two wouldn’t want it any other way.
