We first met in early January of 2014. A couple of days after initially meeting, Thomas sees me and says "Hey, what's up?" I replied with an unsure, drawn out, "Heyyyyyyy youuuuuuu...?" Now anyone that knows me knows that my memory is AWFUL. My response to Thomas' greeting was a lame way to avoid saying the name I forgot. Thomas quickly notices this and asks, "You don't remember my name do you?" In an unsuccessful attempt to save face, I retort, "Of course I do. Do you remember mine?" With a smug look on his face, Thomas replies, "Actually yeah, I do, MARA. Do you remember mine?" I answered with a little too much confidence, "Yeah, I do, TYLER." I think it's safe to say that lasting impressions were made on the both of us. A few days later, my friend and I met up with Thomas and his friends at FSU's on-campus Denny's diner where they all spent hours laughing and cracking jokes on one another. At one point, I replied to someone's comment with an excerpt from one of Kevin Hart's comedy specials, "Pa-choo pa-choo...", and Thomas completed the line with "...errybody gon' die". It was at that exact moment I knew Thomas was the one for me. And seven years later, Thomas sealed the deal and put a ring on my finger.
