What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the ceremony. The Winchester Mystery House grounds are incredibly beautiful and historic. We encourage guests to enjoy the garden and gift shop before or after the ceremony.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

As much as we’d love to invite all of our friends’ children, we can only accommodate a few close family children at our ceremony and reception. We hope you understand our decision and we look forward to celebrating with you.

Can I bring a date?

We're thrilled to celebrate our special day with friends and family. Due to venue capacity and our desire to keep our event intimate, we kindly ask that guests only bring a plus-one if their invitation specifically mentions it. We sincerely appreciate your understanding.

How close is the reception to the ceremony?

Hotel Valencia is .4 miles away (3 minute drive or 8 minute walk) from the Winchester Mystery House. We highly encourage guests to use Uber or Lyft to arrive at our ceremony due to the close proximity of our two venues. As you make your way to cocktail hour at Hotel Valencia, be sure to enjoy Winchester's historic gardens and eclectic gift shop. The house is over 140 years old!

Is there parking for the ceremony?

The Winchester Mystery House has a front and back lot available for guest parking.

Is there parking for the reception?

Answer

Hotel Valencia is located inside Santana Row, a residential and commercial district of West San Jose. The closest parking garages to our reception are Olsen and Santana Row. The first two hours of parking are free. After that, every hour costs $2, with a daily maximum of $10.

What's the weather like in San Jose during June?

Answer

Late June in San Jose is characterized by warm days and cool evenings with average highs around 79°F (26°C) and lows of about 56°F (13°C). Both our ceremony and reception will be held outdoors, so we highly recommend sunglasses for the daytime and a light jacket for the evening.
