Ring In The New Year

When people think of a sweaty spin class with 50 strangers, love is usually not the first thing they think of... unless you're Jaime and Tom. In November 2013, Tom, the self proclaimed ski bum from Jackson Hole, decided to hang up his skis and throw on a pair of spin shoes to open the first Turnstyle Cycle in Back Bay; while Jaime was pursuing her love of learning at Bedford High School, teaching math, and following her passion for fitness at a small spin studio in Andover. And neither one of them knew who the other was. Three and a half years later, Jaime decided it was time to move out of mom and dads and head to Boston, which meant she had to find a new spin studio. An instructor from her former studio recommended she look into Turnstyle; so, in July 2017, Jaime drafted an email to tom@turnstylecycle.com with the subject line "Inquiring Instructor". Tom responded almost immediately and scheduled a "5 minute interview", which turned into a 55 minute conversation about spinning and his upcoming trip to Jackson Hole. Jaime got the job and started working at Turnstyle Cycle in August of 2017. Who officially started pursuing who can be debated. Were her texts about microphone issues just excuses to talk to him, or was his need to fix a bike at the exact time and studio she was teaching at an excuse for him to bump into her? But by Thanksgiving 2017 the two were meeting up after their family dinners, and Tom was telling Jaime about how much he hated pecan pie. Fast forward to April 2020, the two packed up their things and moved to the midwest to expand the Turnstyle empire. And when the ball dropped on December 31st 2020, Tom proposed and Jaime said “Yes!”. The rest of the story is still being written as the two replant roots in Boston with their dog, Reggie, and make regular trips back to the Midwest.
