This is a celebration of our love, not a free party. Although the following answers aren’t considered rules, they should be treated as such. This includes the closest and the most distant family, as well as friends. Thank you for respecting our wishes :)
Yes, we do! We also have a honeymoon fund on there so if you feel inclined to get us something you can gift any monetary amount to help us with our honeymoon! Tommy and I have lived together for almost 3 years so we have pretty much everything we could need except for those few specific items. Thank you all in advance!!
The venue is a gorgeous maple farm and barn. We ask that you respect everything at the venue whether it’s part of the venue or something Thomas and I have brought for decorations. With the venue being a barn please be aware that it is in the middle of bark river in the woods, we will have bug spray available for use. The venue is also a little hidden so please pay attention to signs we put out as well as the fire numbers. There is also spotty reception/Wi-Fi at Sweet Maple. This means that if you are unable to find the place, we might not be able to answer calls or texts to help with directions. We will ensure plenty of signage to catch your eye and help you find us. Once there, please follow the signs to the ceremony spot and PLEASE DO NOT WANDER. Please refrain from going into the barn until after the ceremony. The bridal party will be around the venue, and we don’t want anyone to wander while the photographer is taking detailed pictures, and the bridal party is getting ready.
The ceremony will start promptly at 3:30, so we ask that you please show up about 30 minutes before hand (but no earlier). We understand that there may be traffic or other delays, but if you are running late, please refrain from interrupting the ceremony, and we will still celebrate with you during the cocktail hour and reception. :)
Kids are absolutely welcome! We will have little goodie bags to keep them busy during the ceremony and there will be plenty of room for them to run around during the reception! We only ask that you keep them seated and quiet during the ceremony. During the reception, please make sure your children stay near you during key moments, for example, special dances, speeches, etc. We can’t wait for them to hit the dance floor! Each child will be listed on each family’s invitation. We do ask that you RSVP for everyone on that invite, including children who will be present. This will ensure they have a seat and a meal!! Please remember that this is an adult oriented event so music and overall atmosphere will reflect a mature, celebratory environment. We hope this helps you plan accordingly and ensures everyone has an amazing time!!
To keep our wedding as intimate as possible and due to space constraints, we ask that only those formally invited on the wedding invitation attend. Unfortunately, if anyone who is not included in your invite comes with you, they will not be accommodated, seated, or fed.
This is a semi-formal event (polished and elegant but not overly formal), so we would like to give everyone a good reason to dress up! For women, think cocktail midi dresses, skirt and blouse, nice pantsuit, or maxi dress, and for men, dress pants, dress shirts, and ties optional. Aim for a refined look that's comfortable for celebrating! We would appreciate it if you avoided jeans, sweatpants, hoodies, or graphic T-shirts. Girls may want to bring a shawl or cardigan of some sort; remember it’s fall in the UP, so it may be chilly, but the barn is heated. We also would like to request that there be NO white or shades of white (off white, champagne, blush, ivory, etc), out of respect for the bride! There are no other restricted colors! :) Red wine leaves a mark ;) (Please note the bridesmaids will be in a Eucalyptus Green (darker than sage green but not quite dark green)
First off, thank you so much for travelling the distance to celebrate with us! We have a hotel block at the casino for our guests to use if they would like. It is only about 8 minutes from the venue. We are working on possibly getting the shuttle from the casino to the venue as well. It is $124 plus tax a night for the 2 queen beds. We have the block from October 24-26. Just give them a call at 1-800-682-6040 and when booking just reference The Rama wedding or use ID 21466. We have double queen and single king standard as options. There are also only a few King whirlpool suites available as well!! You do not have to choose the hotel we provide, but we hope it helps in your search.
We want our family and friends to be safe and be able to get back and forth safely after celebrating with us. The Island Resort and Casino is nearby, and we are currently working and setting up their shuttle service to safely transport our guests back to the hotel. We will update with more information as we get it.
The ceremony and reception are at the same venue! Please make sure you are only parking in the designated areas at the venue.
Yes, overnight parking is allowed! We understand the importance of ensuring everyone gets home safely. Guests can leave their vehicles at the venue overnight and pick them up the following morning. Please be aware that the venue is out of town, and there are a limited number of Ubers and taxis, so please plan accordingly.
Your presence will be missed. We ask that you RSVP "No" as soon as possible. If you have already RSVP'd "Yes," but find that you will not be able to make it please notify the bride at 906-280-4535.
Unfortunately our venue & caterer requires a guest-count and if we do not receive an RSVP by the due date, we will not have a seat or a meal prepared for you and we will not be able to accommodate you after the fact.
We have a wonderful photographer & videographer that will be capturing our day so you don’t have to! Our ceremony will be unplugged, so please do not take any photo or video until the cocktail party and reception.
Please let us know! We have family with dietary restrictions so we are very understanding. Jaidan can’t even eat potatoes, so it’s alright :)
I know we all love our furbabies and want to bring them everywhere with us but animals of any kind are not allowed at the venue so please do not bring your pets or we will have to ask you to leave to bring them home.
This is a family event and Jaidan has some rough allergies and hates the smell of smoke so we ask that you please go to the parking area if you need to smoke, we also ask that you refrain from smoking weed anywhere on the property. Thank you all in advance for respecting our wishes🙂
Outside alcohol is prohibited and we ask you abide to it please. If you bring outside alcohol you may be asked to leave.
Please feel free to send us a message and we will be more than happy to help answer your questions! We look forward to celebrating with you!!
