Short Story: Thomas proposed to Jackie at the Scenic Overlook at Weston Bend State Park in Weston, MO. One late summer Saturday, Thomas drove us up to Weston, MO for a day trip. Along the way we talked about our hopes for the future, our desire to travel and the necessity of a dog in our lives. We went to the Scenic Overlook at Weston Bend state park and took in the view. It wasn't too crowded, but like clockwork as one group would leave, another would fill its place. We decided to go get lunch downtown at the Tin Kitchen - Yum! The streets were buzzing as we walked down main street, taking in Weston in the daylight. We'd only been to main street at night previously. We peeped in the windows of the shops downtown and purchased a reindeer ornament from the Polish pottery shop. We then made our way back to the Scenic Overlook... and took a nap in the car... didn't I say Tin Kitchen was yum?! We walked out to the overlook and finally got a private moment. Thomas proposed, I said yes, and we treasured those 10 seconds before another couple joined us. Luckily that couple was so sweet and congratulatory and gave us all the tips for downtown Weston and which wineries to try. We stopped in for sheep ice cream at Green Dirt Farm Creamery and then headed to Riverwood Winery. We ran into the friendly couple from before and visited while enjoying live music.
